F1 Visa Crisis: Indians Face Repeated Rejections

Getting a US visa is becoming nearly impossible for some Indians, especially F1 aspirants who are facing multiple rejections.

F1 visa denials are rising sharply, and there’s no clear explanation except for the blind US crackdown that has been going on. Students with solid academic records, financial proof, and even multiple I-20s are being denied again and again.

An Indian applicant for Clemson University faced F1 rejection twice— one in the fall of 2024, and another now in 2025. Worse, he says they’re not even given a proper reason. A five-minute interview ends with a rejection slip, and they’re left confused, angry, and helpless.

The student admitted he was nervous, and many believe that could have been the major issue. However, there’s nothing one could do more than try again with a better approach, which still doesn’t guarantee a denial at the embassy for another random reason.

Over 330,000 Indians were pursuing higher education in the US in 2024, the most from a foreign country. Amidst all this chaos, this number is likely to see a drastic decline with all the deportations and visa rejections this year.
