Visa Revoked After Traffic Case
The student lost their F-1 visa in April 2025 because of an over-speeding incident from January. Their legal status in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, SEVIS, was also terminated soon after that decision.
SEVIS Reinstated But Travel Blocked
Their school stepped in and restored the SEVIS record, which brought them back to valid F-1 status inside the US. Even with this reinstatement, they cannot travel, as the visa stamp remains revoked and is no longer usable for re-entry.

The student is preparing to graduate with a STEM degree in May 2026 and hopes to apply for optional practical training and then the STEM extension. The US treats the visa stamp and F-1 status separately, and your stay depends on the SEVIS record, not the stamp on your passport.
