H1-B: 10K Full in 2 Days!

H1-B and green card issues in the U.S. are notorious nightmares for immigrants, given the never-ending wait and high demand.

To capitalize on this situation, Canada introduced a H1-B program, allowing H1-B visa holders from the U.S. to work for any employer in Canada on an open work permit for up to 3 years.

Canada’s Open Work Permit for U.S. H-1B visa holders received an overwhelming response, reaching the initial cap of 10,000 within 48 hours.

The fact that Canada received 10,000 applications in just two days (48 hours), which is meant for a year, highlights the significant interest among H1-B visa holders facing layoffs and green card issues, who are seeking to migrate to Canada.

If Canada decides to grant permanent residency (PR) based on approved I-140 from the U.S., thousands of H1-B visa holders would likely make an immediate move to Canada.
