H1B Holder Under Investigation for Target Shoplifting

A young Indian professional on an H1B visa in Washington is now facing serious consequences after allegedly shoplifting from a Target store.

While there has been no arrest yet, police have visited and charges are expected.

This isn’t the first time such a case has surfaced.

Just recently, an Indian student was caught stealing from a Sunglass Hut in Harris County, Texas — his arrest photo went viral across social media.

Shoplifting may seem minor, but for visa holders, it can be life-altering.

This incident will likely go on the record and could severely affect H1B extensions, green card processing, and may even trigger deportation — especially with immigration tightening under Trump-era scrutiny.

Why throw away years of effort, education, and opportunity for a few stolen items?
