After 4-Month H-1B Delay, Visa Approved in Just 4 Days

After a delay of four months, an H-1B visa applicant finally received approval within just four days. The case has drawn attention as it reflects the unpredictable timelines many applicants are currently facing.

The Indian professional shared his experience from Chennai. His visa interview was initially scheduled for December 17, 2025. However, like many others, it was postponed to April 17, 2026 due to heavy backlog and additional checks.

The delay was also linked to new requirements involving online presence review. Applicants are now required to share their social media accounts for verification. This step has added another layer to the already lengthy visa process.

When the interview finally took place, the process moved quickly. The visa officer asked basic questions. The applicant explained that it was a change of status from an F-1 visa to an H-1B visa.

During the interview, he admitted that he had not listed all his social media accounts. Instead of rejection, he received a 221(g) slip. He was asked to submit the missing details through email with proper links.

Within hours of submitting the information, the status changed from rejected to consular processing. By evening, it was marked approved. The visa status was updated to issued the next day.

After a short wait, the passport was delivered successfully. Despite months of delay in securing the interview, the final approval process took only a few days.

This experience reflects the current reality for many Indian applicants. While delays and scrutiny remain high, decisions can be quick once processing begins. The story offers both relief and frustration for those still waiting.
