Getting an H1B visa has always been a laborious task, with endless delays and rejections. And now, applicants must be extra careful as even your photo can ruin everything.
A social media user who recently attended their H1B Dropbox appointment at the New Delhi VAC claims mass photo rejections are happening for absurd reasons. It was so rampant that the staff was joking about rejecting every photo that day.
People were turned away because their pictures weren’t “bright enough” or had a barely visible shadow. Even if the photo looks perfect at first glance, a slight smile could lead to Instant rejection.
Every applicant should also make sure the photo you submit for a visa is a new one. If your photo matches one from a previous visa or passport, that’s another reason to reject it.
The social media user gave some tips for photos to avoid this mistake. A white background, a straight face with zero expression, and a super bright picture with no shadows.
However, as US visas are facing stricter restrictions there is no safe bet or guarantee. If the system wants to reject your photo, it probably will.
An applicant can only hope for the best but at the end of the day, it is out of your control. Just take precautions and prepare for the worst since even a smile or a shadow can cost you your dream.
