24/7 Work: H-1B Employee Stuck with Toxic Boss

An H-1B employee has exposed the toxic culture at a small US firm. In a detailed online post, the worker described constant harassment from an owner who uses their visa status as leverage.

Threats and Visa Pressure

The employee says the boss repeatedly reminds them that quitting would leave only 60 days to stay in the US. This constant threat has created fear and keeps the worker from standing up against unfair treatment.

Toxic Work Environment

The H-1B holder alleges that the company ignores labour rights. Despite being on salary, they are not paid for overtime. Weekends do not exist as the boss insists the team must be available “24/7.”

Bizarre Contract Demands

The firm reportedly tried to impose extreme rules. These included mandatory workouts, a five-year non-solicitation clause, and even cancelling vacations. When the worker refused, the company still forced some policies on them.

Employee Collects Evidence

The employee claims to have screenshots, transcripts, and contracts proving misconduct. Still, they are unsure whether to act against the employer now or wait until they find a new sponsor for their visa.

Exploiting International Talent

The worker’s experience highlights how some companies exploit H-1B employees. With international workers already vulnerable under current conditions, toxic employers are using fear and intimidation without accountability.
