Attacks on Indians Skyrocket in North Hollywood

North Hollywood attack sparks concern

A recent video on Instagram has gone viral, sparking outrage across the NRI community. The video shows a shirtless black man throwing trash at an Indian man and attacking him.

The attack took place on September 3rd near the Lankershim and Erwin Metro stop. That same intersection saw another brutal attack on an Indian last month.

Seventy-year-old Harpal Singh was attacked by a man with a golf club riding a bicycle. The reason for the attack remains unknown.

Harpal Singh remains in an induced coma after multiple surgeries following the attack. He suffered broken bones in his face, as well and internal bleeding in the brain.

Police managed to track down the suspect through surveillance camera footage. The video showed the attacker sitting in a pool of blood following the crime.

Such incidents of hatred-fueled violence against Indians in America have risen sharply. Many videos on social media have documented severe racism against Indians.

Indians have been verbally abused on the streets. Many videos show Indians being told to “get out of the country.”

FBI data backs these incidents. Numbers show a sharp rise in anti-Hindu and anti-Sikh violence.

Indians in the US continue to live in severe fear. With crimes against NRIs rising, it remains to see what steps will be taken to prevent them.
