Not Taliban; Afghani Man Shot Dead In The USA

On July 3, 31-year-old Afghan father of four Nusrat Ahmad Yar was killed in northeast Washington, DC. Ahmad Yar, who had operated for the US Special Forces in Afghanistan for ten years, landed in the US on a military visa. In their new house, he wanted to protect and flourish his wife and children, 13, 11, 8, and 15 months.

Ahmad Yar was shot and died early in the morning while carrying four Americans. The shooters fled the scene on video. Ahmad Yar had a stomach wound when the police arrived. Despite hospital efforts, he died. The shooting suspects’ capture and conviction are rewarded with $25,000.

Ahmad Yar first lived in Philadelphia, but gunmen demanding money made the area too hazardous. He became a Lyft driver in Northern Virginia to help his Afghan family. The US military and Afghan society are collecting for Ahmad Yar’s family after his unfortunate death. The US President has called gun violence an “epidemic” and his death illustrates its risks. 360 mass shootings occurred in 2023, raising the death toll.

The National Rifle Association (NRA) continues to push against gun control laws, even though most Americans support them.
