Telangana Student Dies in Chicago Accident

A tragic road accident in the United States has claimed the life of a young Indian (Telugu) student, leaving her family and community in deep shock.

Navya Gadusu, 24, a native of Cheruvugattu village in Nalgonda district, Telangana, died in a car accident in Chicago. She was the daughter of Gadasu Srinivas Reddy and had moved to the United States about two and a half years ago to pursue Masters higher education. After completing her MS, she was working part-time while planning her next steps.

According to initial information, Navya was traveling with three friends and was on her way home when another vehicle crashed into their car from behind. The impact was severe, and she is believed to have died on the spot. Details about the condition of the others in the car are still unclear.

Back home, the news has devastated her family. Relatives and locals in Cheruvugattu are struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss of a young life that carried so many hopes.

Telangana minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy expressed his condolences and described the incident as deeply disturbing. He said Navya Gadusu had completed her MS and had strong ambitions for the future, making her untimely death an irreparable loss for the family. He extended his sympathies to her loved ones and assured that the government would stand by them.

The minister also said he has spoken to senior officials and representatives from Indian organizations in the United States, including TANA and ATA, to ensure that Navya’s mortal remains are brought back to her hometown at the earliest. Efforts are underway to complete the formalities.

Incidents like these once again highlight the challenges faced by Indian students abroad, many of whom juggle studies, work, and life in unfamiliar surroundings, far from home and family. For Navya’s family, however, this is not just another news story. It is a loss that cannot be filled.
