USPS Blunder Puts F-1 OPT at Deportation Risk

Volunteer Position Rejected by University

The student has secured a qualifying volunteer research role that could legally halt unemployment days. However, their university refuses to update the SEVIS record without first seeing the EAD card, even though OPT rules clearly permit unpaid, degree-related work as valid employment.
