US Horror: Indian Family of 3 Dies After Hiding in Bathroom

A tragic fire at a motel in the US has killed three members of a Gujarati family who had moved there two years ago in the hope of a better future.

The incident happened in Worcester, Massachusetts, where a major fire broke out at a motel. The victims were identified as Hiteshbhai Suthar, his wife Hinaben Suthar, and their 20-year-old daughter Ishani Suthar. The family was originally from Nadiad in Gujarat’s Kheda district.

Hiteshbhai was working at the Econo Lodge motel in Worcester, and the family was staying in a room inside the motel premises. According to reports, the fire broke out around 1:30 am on Sunday night and spread quickly through the building.

With flames outside their room and no safe way to escape, Hiteshbhai reportedly called the motel’s front desk for help. He was told to take his family into the bathroom, keep the water running, and wait there until rescue teams arrived. The family followed that advice and locked themselves inside the bathroom.

But the fire spread fast, and help could not reach them in time. By then, the room and bathroom had filled with thick toxic smoke, and all three died of suffocation.

The incident has left their relatives and people in Nadiad in deep shock. Efforts are now being made to bring the bodies back to India, while local authorities in the US are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
