A Must Watch Documentry About Rape Victims

Netflix’s new documentary, directed by Nancy Schwartzman, which focuses on investigative journalist Rachel de Leon and her work at The Center for Investigative Reporting. It is a film about exposing police culture indifferent to rape charges.

The film highlights the stories of rape survivors, as well as the perspectives of law enforcement and legal professionals.

In this slow burn journey, Rachel de Leon specifically addresses two additional victims: Emma Mannion, who was sexually assaulted by two acquaintances, and Dyanie Bermeo, who was allegedly raped by an individual pretending to be a police officer.

It shows interrogations of these women but things took a turn when their detectives starts flipping the script on them. Suddenly, they went from being seen as victims to becoming the prime suspects

The documentary goes deep into how cops make people confess by playing mind games, messing with their heads, and making them doubt their own stories when they report assaults. While the story gets wrapped up in 90 minutes, justice for the victims is still up in the air.”
