Netflix has had their aim focused on the traditional streaming business for a long time. However, the company is not afraid of trying something new and has dived into live streaming for the first time. With The Netflix Cup, Netflix has decided to indulge in live sports, something which the company has never done before.
However, the viewers of the show are not exactly thrilled about it and found the experience ‘boring’ and ‘waste of time’. The tournament brings together stars from two of the Netflix shows “Drive To Survive” and “Full Swing”.
The show features participants from Formula One and Golf where they team up to play at the Wynn Golf Club Las Vegas. The live experience of watching the game on Netflix proved to be an underwhelming show and viewers heavily criticized the live commentary offered by Netflix.
Instead of hearing the ‘boring’ and ‘unprofessional’ commentary, many viewers decided to hear the live banter between the contestants instead. There’s definitely a learning curve for Netflix here. Live streaming is still new for the platform and they can definitely work on a lot of aspects to offer a better viewing experience.
