Big Relief To South Producers From CBFC

Previously, in terms of the national market, finance and popularity were dominated by Hindi films, but the tables have turned. If you talk about success, the southern part of India is now one powerhouse and one of the most important pillars of the industry, and a new step by CBFC welcomes the new big players.

Now, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) previously issued a notice that all applications for any Hindi dubbed versions of non-Hindi films can only be submitted to the Mumbai office of CBFC.

But things are changing; CBFC changed their stance on it, and this time, it’s a positive change.

The board has stated that the certification of any Hindi versions will not just be done by the Mumbai office but in any office. In short, if the makers are certifying the original Telugu version of a film, at that very office, they can apply for the Hindi dubbed version one.

Now, how will it impact the industry?

Firstly, it will lessen the time period, and in terms of monetary terms, it will only benefit the producers. Also, more than that, it is indeed a statement to show that the Hindi industry isn’t the only bright star in the sky; the South has risen and risen as a force to reckon with.

As of now, it will be implemented as a trial process for six months, from 20th October. This also makes the withdrawal of CBFC’s previous notice regarding the applications for the certification of Hindi dubbed films be made only to the CBFC’s Mumbai regional office.
