BB9: EP 1: Commoners Have Edge Over Celebrities

Nagarjuna Akkineni is back on the Bigg Boss stage for its 9th edition in Telugu. The show is launched today, with 15 contestants, of which six members are commoners who are picked from the Bigg Boss Agni Pareeksha show.

For the first time, the BB organizers decided to give commoners a chance. In the process, they conducted auditions and shortlisted 45 members. Among them, they selected 15 members and assigned various tasks over the course of two weeks. Finally, three contestants were picked through voting, while three others were picked by Sreemukhi, Bindu Madhavi, and Navdeep, respectively.

The mix of celebrities and commoners is going to be pretty interesting this time. The advantage that the commoners have now is that they are all habituated to the TV audience. Most of them already have fan bases for their performances on the BB Agni Pareeksha show. Since all of them passed through the voting procedure, a dedicated voting fan base was also established for them, and this will be a threat to the celebrities.

Additionally, the celebrities must treat the commoners with respect and if things do not go well, the celebrities are the ones who are at the losing end. Because commoners have nothing to lose, and whatever they earn now will be purely from the TV show alone. Simultaneously, the celebrities will be under severe scrutiny for their actions and words towards the commoners, which will be a disadvantage for them.

Right at the beginning of the season, looking at the profiles of contestants, we think that there are fair chances for commoners to win the title this time, in comparison with the celebrities, as none of them have a big fan base outside the house. On the whole, the element of commoners is going to bring a difference this time.

5. Suman Shetty – Actor who did films like Jayam, 7/G Brundavan Colony, and others

6. Emmanuel – Comedian shot to fame with Jabardasth TV show

7. Rithu Choudhary – YouTube fame

8. Tanuja Gowda – Actor who did Mudda Mandaram TV Serial

9. Ramu Rathod – Singer who shot to fame with Ranu Bambai Ki Ranu

1. Maryada Manish (selected by Sreemukhi): He was named on the Forbes 30 under 30 list – Class of 2024.

2. Priya Shetty – A medical student from Kurnool
