Bollywood’s Big Film Steals Footage From Stock Videos?

“Ganpath,” starring Tiger Shroff, as we had predicted, was bound to stir up controversies for a few reasons. Now, a few channels like Mohitverse and Kiba Kibi have alleged that its makers used stock footage in a few scenes in the teaser.

As Mohitverse tweeted, he pointed out the clearly visible mistakes in the teaser, such as poor VFX and CGI, but there was another issue that went unnoticed. Allegedly, the makers used League of Legends footage, which is actually of a gaming arena, and they used the same clip with a little color grading to portray it as the MMA ring set in the 2070 era.

This has generated chatter on the platform because it’s a significant issue. Typically, big-budget movies don’t resort to using such cheap tactics unless they are creating a masterpiece like “Adipurush.” However, some Tiger Shroff fans began defending the teaser by accusing movies like “Jawan” and “Pathan” of also using stock images.

The use of stock videos and audio isn’t a tactic employed by many filmmakers, but how it is used is what matters. These are tactics typically used by small-budget filmmakers who struggle to create such sets or lack the budget to hire a good VFX studio. When a movie with a budget of 150 crores makes such a decision, it reflects their lazy approach to filmmaking.
