SonyLIV brings this new female-centric Tamil film directed by Nelson Venkatesan, starring Aishwarya Rajesh, who is on a rampage this year doing movie after movie.
This thriller film starts when Farhana, a Muslim woman, takes a call center job to support her family. She forms a deep connection with an unknown caller, revealing her true identity and wanting to meet him. The movie explores what happens next, including potential problems, the caller’s intentions, and Farhana’s safety.
Although the story is quite simple, this movie is able to raise issues like women empowerment and freedom of choice with its powerful writing and thought-provoking dialogues. Aishwarya delivers one of her best performances with “Farhana.” She beautifully plays a naive, good-natured lady who wants to fly high but is unaware of the dangers of the sky.
The director is able to maintain the thrill by not showing the caller until the end. The climax could have been made better by editing a few scenes, but overall it’s a well-made movie. You can definitely watch “Farhana” on SonyLIV.
