The recently released Gopichand’s Viswam directed by Srinu Vaitla hit theaters on October 11 as a Dussehra treat.
While the film failed to create any excitement pre-release, it received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences after its release.
Although some viewers appreciated its comedy, it struggled to make much impact at the box office.
Now reports are coming that Viswam will be available on Amazon Prime Video starting November 1, 2024, as a Diwali special.
This means the film will be released on OTT just 20 days after its theatrical debut. It is less than even the bare minimum window of four weeks which Telugu films follow.
It remains to be seen if the OTT audience will respond more positively to Viswam than the theatrical audience and enjoy the film’s fun elements.
An official confirmation of Viswam’s OTT release is still awaited, and it will be interesting to witness how the movie performs on OTT.
