“Maharashtra Shaheer” celebrates the life of a remarkable figure who used his music to inspire and ignite the spirits of people during India’s pre-independence era. The film beautifully conveys the power of music to bring about change and social transformation, showcasing the patriotic singing and inspirational messages of its titular figure, Shaheer.
The first half sets the stage, and the second half brings Sable’s achievements to life, including the iconic ‘Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha’ song. Maharashtra Shahir is a biopic that keeps it real. It captures Sable’s life with all its ups and downs, no sugar-coating. The film traces ‘Kisna’ becoming Shaheer Sable and his immense impact on Maharashtra’s folk art.
Shinde does a fine job with this film, and the actors, especially Ankush Chaudhari, delivered top-notch performances. It’s easily one of his best career moments. You can watch this historical ride featuring legendary figures from Maharashtra’s past.
