Nawazuddin Siddiqui is having an interesting story to tell after a long time now. He will be playing the lead in the Indian adaptation of ‘House’ and it will be streaming on Disney+Hotstar.
Banijay Asia will be producing the show and it is the company behind most of the Indian adaptations of international shows. Writer turned filmmaker Vijay Maurya will be helming the show but nothing has been confirmed yet.
The pace Nawazuddin Siddiqui showed in the last few years is not there anymore. He had huge success on OTT with Sacred Games which was the first big web series from India. But after that, he could not come up with many appreciable stories.
With House, Nawaz has a huge opportunity now and there is a possibility that this can be bigger than Sacred Games as well.
The original show has eight seasons and one hundred and seventy seven episodes in total.
It told the story of Gregory House, a cynical medical genius with unconventional methods of treatment.
It will be a great challenge for Nawaz to match up to Hugh Laurie’s performance in the show. But if he does, he will have an opportunity to overcome the OTT slumber after Sacred Games and a chance at becoming the OTT superstar once more.
