OTT App Saves NRI Man From Theft!

Have you ever thought that having an active OTT subscription could save you from losing millions? This is exactly what happened with Dinesh Manchanda, who used to live in Gurugram, when he figured out that he was scammed and looted by people who were supposed to transfer all his goods from his house to a storage facility. The man had to shift to Canada with his family and had entrusted the suspects with selling his house and transferring everything to a storage facility.

The suspects had informed Dinesh that all his goods were safely transferred to a storage facility. But one day, Dinesh found that his OTT subscription was still being accessed by the TV that was supposed to be transferred. This raised suspicion and he asked another person to check the storage facility where the stuff was to be taken. When the storage unit was checked, it was found to be full of old and damaged goods belonging to the suspects.

It was found that goods worth ₹60 lakhs were stolen and being used by the suspects themselves. In addition to this, items worth ₹20-25 lakh were sold to a scrap dealer. When threatened with legal action, they returned the goods they were using themselves. They also gave 3 cheques to compensate for the items sold but they were all returned because of faulty signature. An FIR has been registered and police are investigating further into the matter.
