The OTT space has been growing beyond leaps and bounds in India with leading OTT giants investing heavily in the OTT market. But which is the biggest OTT streaming app in terms of viewer interest?
As expected, YouTube tops the list with 456 million unique visitors as of this January. This free streaming platform enjoys the biggest viewer base in the country.
Then comes Disney+ Hotstar with 114 million unique visitors, followed by Jio Cinema with 101 million unique visitors, MX Player with 93 million, and Zee5 with 57 million.
Interestingly, ZEE5 is ahead of Netflix(42 million unique visitors) and Amazon Prime Video(19 million). Amazon Prime is last on this list.
Now that Jio Cinema and Disney+ Hotstar are set to merge, they could make the biggest streaming platform in the country, more so, with Jio Cinema streaming the ongoing WPL and upcoming IPL season at free of cost for the viewers.
