What to Watch on OTT

Pushpa 2: Netflix’s Worst Nightmare Is Real

In this digital era, safeguarding film content for an elongated period of time is nearly impossible. This is one of the biggest challenges for OTT platforms which are paying a premium amount of money to buy superstar films.

In the case of the second part of Pushpa the official OTT streaming partner of the film, Netflix paid a fortune for the digital streaming rights.

However, sadly for Netflix, the film is now pirated and available in the internet.

It isn’t like a theatrical print captured in a mobile phone or a camera is the one that is streaming. But instead, HD format of the film has somehow leaked on the internet, and it is now trending all over.

The fact that the HD print of the film is streaming on the internet before the OTT release should come as a killer blow to Netflix.

As a result, a few key episodes from the film are now being shared on social media and that too in HD format. Netflix must surely be gutted by what is happening with the HD print of Pushpa 2.

Netflix has its own set of audience who will patiently wait for the OTT release to watch the film. But a chunk of the anticipation will be destroyed with this HD print, which will keep the main episodes of the film on social media, even before the OTT debut.

As for the verity release date of Pushpa 2 on Netflix, it is likely to be streamed from early February which is still a fair bit away from now.
