‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ came out on the 5th of December in 2024 and is surprisingly still running in some theaters. It is big news because the movie is already out on OTT and gathering a huge amount of views there as well.
Pushpa has gone on to collect over two thousand crores at the worldwide box office and has enjoyed a massive hype in India. It is startling that even Hindi audiences are still going to watch the movie in theaters now.
Pushpa 2 premiered on Netflix on the 30th of January and after these many days, there are fans who are still willing to pay a whopping sum to go to multiplexes to watch the film. This does not happen very often and indeed is another feather on the caps of Allu Arjun and director Sukumar.
This also invalidates claims by Akshay Kumar and other stars that films are not doing much business because people like to prefer watching movies in the comfort of their homes.
It proves that if the star and the film can generate enough buzz, it can go on strongly even after the OTT release and this is an example the other stars should try to follow.
