Should Netflix Add Comments Under Films?

Streaming platforms like Netflix and Prime Video have become the hub for new content, with a variety of original content as well as films being released regularly.

Some social media users have come forward to give their own opinions on what they think can make the engagement even better.

According to some, these platforms should have a comment section under every film or show, where viewers can freely discuss and analyze the particular content, providing a ‘gold mine’ of opinions.

There have also been talks of star contributors and loyal members, who will be invited to offline events, owing to their valuable contribution to the analysis of content.

While the perspective seems nice on the outside, cracks begin to appear as soon as we look a bit deeper.

Looking at YouTube’s comment section, one should know by now that any such attempt by streaming platforms will quickly become a breeding ground for spam and bot comments, as well as meaningless and toxic fan wars and targeted trolls.

While this concept as an idea might be ludicrous, there is a high chance that its execution will fail immediately, leading to it becoming nothing more than a nuisance to maintain for the platforms.
