A user criticised SonyLiv and FanCode for dull video and poor audio, comparing them unfavourably to independent YouTube providers who offer better quality for free. Although SonyLiv has been praised for streaming a lot of football action, fans will not accept low-quality content.
The user also suggested that other OTT giants like Netflix, Prime Video, and JioHotstar should take over streaming rights and offer better video quality. JioHotstar streams the English Premier League and has mostly avoided criticism for its football coverage.
SonyLiv built a core football audience in India, but its quality issues may drive viewers to other platforms. Only time will tell if SonyLiv improves its streaming quality and user experience.
