SonyLIV is failing to utilize its five available streams effectively. The streaming platform is facing huge criticism from the viewers as they are unable to see “The French Open” as they want to because firstly they manually have to change the feed and end up with the same match, after facing ads.
The platform has ended up boring some subscribers with repetitive content instead of maximizing its multi-feed advantage.
While French Open may not have the same appeal as cricket or football in India, it still rules a dedicated fan following. The fans are complaining that OTT platforms like “FanCode”offer a clear view, clearly we can understand that SonyLIV misstepped.
As one report highlights, French Open ratings are up over 23% on TNT compared to the previous year.
The demands from paying subscribers is clear, they want diversity, accuracy, and control. SonyLIV must overhaul its streaming strategy.
