Advertising demand has soared ahead of the T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand. Broadcaster Jio Hotstar has reportedly hiked the price of commercial slots, making 10-second spots extremely costly for brands wanting to reach a massive audience.

Media buyers reveal that Jio Hotstar is seeking nearly ₹50 lakh for just 10 seconds of advertising during the title clash. The premium reflects both limited inventory and the huge viewership expected as India reached the championship match.

Brands from fintech, consumer goods, automobiles, and e-commerce sectors are competing for the few remaining slots. Companies hope to capitalise on the tournament’s huge audience and make an impact during the final’s high-profile broadcast.

Earlier matches already highlighted the tournament’s reach. Jio Hotstar recorded a peak concurrency of 65.2 million viewers during the India vs England semi-final, setting a global record for the highest concurrent viewership for a live digital event.

The semi-final also generated over 619 million views on the platform, making it the most-streamed T20 International game to date. Experts say the final could attract even higher viewership, while soaring ad prices show how major sporting events have become premium commercial spectacles.
