“The Killer” has indeed been one of the most anticipated films of recent times, and with the added Fincher spice, fans expected something bombastic. After Netflix delivered the greatness of Wes Anderson through his short films, it was now Fincher’s turn.

David Fincher’s “The Killer” dominates Netflix, claiming the top spot on the English Films list with 27.9 million views in its debut weekend. This makes it Netflix’s most-watched title this week after its release on November 10.
On paper, this isn’t the first collaboration between Netflix and Fincher, as his 2020 project “Mank” was streamed on the platform. While it existed in the top 10 list for a short span, it was far from being a hit. In terms of his television career, “House Of Cards” and “Mindhunter” still stand as two of the most loved Netflix series.
With this massive success, we can expect more collaborations between Fincher and the streaming giant, as Fincher himself expressed happiness regarding Netflix’s cooperation. “Netflix has never quibbled with this type of choice,” Fincher says. “They adopted an industry standard that made sense to filmmakers. Netflix has by far the best ‘quality control.'”
Despite some complaints regarding the quality, this isn’t stopping “The Killer” from reaching the top spot. As the craze continues, it is likely to stay at the top for the upcoming weeks.
