Now, the beauty of an Anderson film is unquestionable – every frame is like a painting. The frames he uses are symmetrical and balanced, and about the color palette, it’s as mesmerizing as always.
So, “The Grand Budapest Hotel” is this delightful story that takes place in a made-up place called Zubrowka. You’ve got Gustave H., this charming concierge, and his loyal buddy, Zero Moustafa, who works as a lobby boy.
Now, things get interesting when Gustave is accused of a murder he didn’t commit, and suddenly they’re on this wild adventure to clear his name and also get their hands on a valuable painting.
While they’re on the run, they meet all sorts of quirky characters, and the whole backdrop changes as politics shift. It’s like a rollercoaster of emotions – you’ve got these hilarious moments mixed with touching ones, all woven together in a really cool way.
Now, the cast did a splendid job, and the storytelling is indeed spectacular. Wes Anderson fans have always complained about the lack of it when it comes to the script, but this film makes a strong exception. It also has the unique Anderson spice that sets him apart from all the directors out there.
