In a recent podcast with Raj Shamani, actor Arjun Kapoor took a dig at all the critics who have been making personal comments on him insisting that he leaves the industry.
Arjun Kapoor said that the reviewers’ job is to review the film and the various aspects of the film including the performances. But when a reviewer says that he should not be in the industry and do something else instead, it becomes personal and is not an objective review anymore.
Arjun Kapoor did not have very favourable responses on his performances throughout his career, and he owes that to his script choices too. But very recently, he was seen in Singham Again and his work stood out even if there were actors like Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar there.
Arjun Kapoor managed to overshadow these stalwarts in Singham Again as they gave even worse performances. But they are not criticised with this much intensity.
Some netizens are taking Kapoor’s side saying that it is really offensive to comment on someone saying he should be doing some other job. Kapoor also says that it is like him saying to that reviewer that he/she should be milking cows, not stars.
