A recent exclusive suggests that Ajay Devgn and Anubhav Sinha are planning to work on a film together. Their last collaboration, Cash, came out in 2007 and was a major box office disaster. The makers heavily promoted it as the biggest heist thriller of its time, featuring stunts by Hollywood action directors, but the movie turned out to be boring and forgettable.
Before that, Anubhav directed a decent thriller called Dus in 2005, which made a good profit at the box office. After Cash bombed, he directed Ra.One for Shah Rukh Khan, which also received mixed reviews. Later, the director shifted toward serious cinema. While he won praise from some critics, others criticized him for showing one sided politics in his social movies.
Now, the director is in talks to make another thriller with Ajay Devgn. The two were not on speaking terms for many years, but it seems everything is fine between them now. Reports suggest that producer Kumar Mangat set up a meeting between them, where the director gave him three scripts to choose from. Ajay liked one of the ideas but wanted to make it on a massive, huge scale, so he suggested some changes. If everything goes as planned, the project will kick off by the end of 2026.
Trade experts feel that Anubhav Sinha has become outdated. Considering his past records, they believe that while Sinha can mount and set up a film on a grand scale, he always fumbles and struggles with the execution, so Ajay Devgn needs to be careful.
