Sony Entertainment Television’s popular show, Crime Patrol, will be back soon. The show is returning in a new form as Ajay Devgn is taking the spot of the host instead of Anup Soni, whose frequent appearances made the series a hit among the audience.
Social media reports have revealed that Ajay has already shot for 15 episodes of the show. However, the initial response and TRPs will decide whether the new format will be continued or ended eventually. Apart from Ajay, Rajesh Tailang has been approached for a few episodes.
Ajay himself shared a video through his official handle on X on August 10, 2026, where he gave a brief glimpse of what audiences can expect this time. The new season will air from August 31, 2026.
Ajay’s fans expressed their excitement on social media, saying that the actor is a perfect choice to host such shows. They stated that Ajay’s personality has something that will make the narration of the crime stories interesting to watch, bringing back the old popularity of the series.
But a lot of fans are also dissatisfied at the same time. Most of them questioned Ajay’s choice, saying that he is made only for the big screen. Some also alleged that it might be because Sony has paid Ajay a big amount that he could not refuse.
A few supporters additionally recalled Ajay’s past, stating that OTT was one of the reasons behind his downfall. Most of them referred to the Hotstar series, Rudra, saying that the show hardly created any interest among the audience and the situation was so bad that a planned second season was eventually shelved.
While Ajay has already shot for the episodes, fans are now advising him to rethink before making any choice in the future. Let’s wait and see if Ajay will listen or prefer to do what he wants to do.
