Bollywood stars face box office concerns
The lack of blockbusters from big superstars for more than two years has now raised a lot of concern. Trade experts have pointed out that movies made on a small budget and with no star value are now doing better business, which is not a good sign for those popular faces who have done a lot of hard work over the years.
The biggest issue right now is that the stars hardly care anymore about where they stand today. Akshay Kumar was going through a bad phase, and his situation has improved a little bit since 2025, when his films have easily managed to gross Rs. 100 crores or a little more.
On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan’s fans are completely disappointed with him due to no announcements after War 2. Supporters have frequently requested him to announce Krrish 4, and now they have seemingly given up. The same can be said about Aamir Khan, who is promising a lot of things outside, but none of them have entered production yet.
Salman Khan is also struggling to deliver a hit. Although he is working with Vamshi Paidipally, who has a good track record, concerns remain about whether the same situation as Sikandar will happen again. Ajay Devgn is hardly bringing any new side of himself on screen and is only depending on sequels and remakes.
Trade experts pointed out that when it comes to movie selections, only Shah Rukh Khan is doing the best as he is choosing projects that will be loved by his fans. But their opinion is something else about others. They believe that the other stars are not realizing their potential, and the situation is so bad that, despite taking a lot of time, they are signing the wrong projects.
Netizens reacted on social media by saying that there was a time when stars used to rule at the box office. However, the excitement is not there anymore since they are hardly putting any effort into building a connection with the audience and not realizing that their films are not creating the hype that they need to.
Critics pointed out that the Hindi film industry is going through a very tough phase as it is delivering more flops every year compared to hits and blockbusters. They said that in this situation, only stars can save the industry, but none of them are willing to understand what is going on.
A majority believes that the film industry must go back to the pre-pandemic phase so that every star gets a big comeback. This includes small budgets, no star fees, and more focus on creating good scripts and stories instead of visuals and big announcements.
