Two upcoming clashes at the box office have started raising concern for Bollywood superstars. The first is King, which arrives in December 2026, followed by Salman Khan’s upcoming movie with Vamshi Paidipally, releasing in Eid 2027.
Although King won’t have a direct clash, it is coming six days after the release of Avengers: Doomsday. On the other hand, Salman’s film is reported to have a direct clash with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit.
Doomsday has undoubtedly created a lot of buzz without any promotions in India. MCU already has a big fan base, and following the success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, people are excited to see where the franchise is going next. Doomsday is expected to provide an answer to that, which means that King is clearly facing a threat.
Trade experts also believe that King could have had a better advantage if it had a solo release. But considering the hype for Doomsday, SRK’s fans are worried that the movie might not survive. On the other hand, a few fans are confident that the film will work. They said that Doomsday is not expected to bring heavy business for single screens, and only King can help those theatres.
Talking about Salman and Sandeep’s clash, the situation might change a little bit. Previous reports have claimed that a majority of the shoot for Spirit is yet to be completed, which means that it is expected to move from the Eid 2027 release, giving Salman an advantage at the box office.
In case the clash happens, a disadvantage that remains for now is that people are well aware of the kind of films Sandeep Reddy Vanga has made so far. Netizens are expecting a similar theme in Spirit, and the makers have already created some hype by revealing the first look of the characters from the upcoming film.
Salman’s film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally, who has a record of making routine entertainers that depend on the presentation of superstars. Although Sandeep’s movies have also followed almost the same route, his films always offer something new. A majority even believe that Sandeep is expected to give a big comeback to Prabhas, ending his lineup of underwhelming films.
The Hindi film industry is clearly depending on SRK and Salman’s films for now, considering their stardom. While SRK has already created records with Pathaan and Jawan, Salman is desperately working hard to deliver a big hit. This also does not mean that SRK is not feeling any pressure at all. Since King marks another collaboration with Siddharth Anand, netizens are expecting the movie to take a bigger opening and surpass the previous collections.
A particular section of the audience stated that the clash that is going to happen might be intentional. They alleged that there are people who have a habit of comparing the content of Bollywood with other industries, which gives confidence to the producers of films of other languages to clash with any Hindi superstar on a Friday.
Others claimed that although the other movies don’t intend to defeat the Hindi films in any manner, there is a group that is putting oil into the fire by criticizing Bollywood and forcing people to prefer the other movies. These are only allegations for now, and nothing can be confirmed.
The advance booking will now determine whether audiences are genuinely interested in watching the films. As of now, SRK and Salman’s films need a strong trailer and other promotional material, bringing something new and different for the audience. Let’s wait and see if Bollywood will give tough competition this time or the situation will be completely different.
