Ameesha Patel family faces theft case

A missing pair of diamond bangles has brought Ameesha Patel’s family into the spotlight. Mumbai Police has already arrested a domestic worker months after the jewelry allegedly disappeared from the actress’s parents’ Churchgate home.

According to reports, Ameesha’s mother, Asha Patel, filed a complaint with the Marine Drive Police after a diamond-studded gold bangle worth approximately ₹5 lakh went missing in January 2026. The domestic worker, Seema Vinod Ghate, aged 40, had reportedly been working at the residence for more than a year.

Asha allegedly suspected Seema’s involvement and repeatedly questioned her over the past five to six months. However, after the worker allegedly denied the theft and failed to return the jewelry, the family approached the police.

The investigation initially focused on an unidentified woman. A crime detection team subsequently traced Seema to Virar, Palghar, and detained her.

She was produced before a court, which remanded her to police custody until September 15. The stolen bangle has not yet been recovered, and police are investigating whether the accused has any previous criminal record. The case was registered under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Ameesha Patel, who made her debut opposite Hrithik Roshan in Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, has also enjoyed a strong Telugu film connection.

She acted opposite Pawan Kalyan in Badri, Mahesh Babu in Nani, NTR in Narasimhudu, and Balakrishna in Param Veer Chakra. Her other notable Hindi films include Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Humraaz, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Race 2. She returned to the big screen with Gadar 2 in 2023.
