After the recent legal developments involving Rajpal Yadav, another Bollywood actor has landed in trouble. Actress Ameesha Patel is now facing legal action in a separate case.
A court in Moradabad has issued a non-bailable warrant against Ameesha Patel. The warrant is linked to a case dating back to 2017, related to a wedding event.
The issue arose when Ameesha Patel was reportedly booked to perform at a high-profile wedding in Moradabad. The event organiser, Pawan Verma, alleged that she accepted an advance but failed to attend the event.
According to the complaint, the actress was scheduled to perform on November 16, 2017. An advance payment of Rs 14.50 lakh was reportedly made, and her stay was arranged at a hotel on Delhi Road in Moradabad.
The organiser claimed that Ameesha Patel did not turn up for the wedding. He further alleged that during later discussions, she promised to return the full amount.
Following reports of the non-bailable warrant, Ameesha Patel responded through Instagram Stories. She described the case as an old and settled matter and stated that her legal team would take action against Verma.
A non-bailable warrant means the accused cannot seek immediate bail after arrest. The person must either appear before the court or seek specific court permission to avoid arrest.
If Ameesha Patel does not comply, local police may travel to Mumbai to execute the warrant. The actress has been directed to appear before the court on March 27.
With Rajpal Yadav’s case recently dominating online discussions, Ameesha Patel’s legal issue has now become the latest topic of internet attention.
