A routine online delivery turned into a terrifying ordeal for a Bengaluru woman after a delivery executive allegedly forced his way into her apartment, exposed himself, and fled the scene.
The accused has since been arrested, while the incident has reignited concerns over customer safety during doorstep deliveries.
The incident took place on Saturday evening in the Munnekolala area of Marathahalli.
According to the police, the accused, 22-year-old Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat, had arrived at the woman’s apartment to deliver an order.
The woman, identified as Nilofar Fatima, alleged that after completing the delivery, the executive repeatedly requested permission to use her bathroom.
Despite being denied entry multiple times, he allegedly removed his shoes and forced his way into the apartment, claiming it was an emergency.
According to her complaint, the man came out of the bathroom and flashed his private parts inside the house.
The woman managed to record part of the incident on her phone and later shared the video on social media.
The footage quickly gained attention, prompting the Marathahalli Police to contact her and initiate legal action.
Based on her complaint, police registered a case against the accused under Sections 75, 79, and 329(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which relate to sexual harassment and other associated offences.
Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat was subsequently arrested, and further investigation is underway.
Following the incident, Flipkart issued a statement saying it was “deeply disturbed” by what had happened.
The company confirmed that it had immediately terminated the delivery executive’s engagement and was fully cooperating with the police investigation.
The incident has sparked widespread concern online, with many users calling for stricter safety protocols for doorstep deliveries and stronger measures to protect customers.
