Bollywood Half Yearly 2025 BO: Worse Than Expected

Bollywood hasn’t been on a roll in 2025 with multiple films getting bashed at the box office whereas many surprise entries getting huge recognition.

Before that, Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 turned out to be profitable earning 165 crores at the box office and having mixed reviews from the audiences.

Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 failed to live up to the hype although collected over 150 crores at the box office but failed to have a considerable collection given its high-tier budget.

With a box office collection of Rs 557 crores, the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava is the highest-grossing film of the year thus far.

As the first half of 2025 comes to a close, Bollywood hasn’t found much success so far. While there were some great films like The Diplomat, Maa, Crazxy and many more, they failed to have a considerable collection at the box office.

While the first half of 2025 might have been mixed for Bollywood, the second half looks to showcase several high-profile projects.

Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi look to deliver comedic gold with Jolly LLB 3 which might have a great outing at the box office if executed perfectly.

Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 is also hyping for a huge release ahead and given the hype around it so far, it can have a great response on the big screens.

August will also serve a huge clash between War 2 and Rajinikanth’s Coolie which will certainly become a huge spectacle to witness.

Sidharth Malhotra’s Param Sundari, Varun Dhawan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 are also some highly anticipated projects in the second half of the year.

Only time will tell if the second half of 2025 will be any better than the first half or not for Bollywood.
