50,000 Tickets Sold in Advance: Enough for Border 2?

With two days left for release, the producers of Border 2 are making strategic moves to strengthen its box office prospects. Distributors are pushing for extended show allocations. Single screens are expected to run two shows for nearly two weeks.

At multiplexes, the arrangement is slightly different. The two-show rule will apply for one week. Two-screen theatres will dedicate all shows, while three-screen venues will run 12 shows daily for the film.

Four-screen multiplexes have been asked to allot 14 shows. Five-screen venues will offer 16 shows, while six-screen locations are expected to run 18 shows. Theatres with more than seven screens must schedule at least 20 shows.

An industry insider revealed that the gap between shows will be four hours. This is due to the film’s runtime exceeding three hours. Advance booking opened on Sunday, and early response has been described as decent.

National multiplex chains PVRInox and Cinepolis have sold around 22,000 tickets for Day 1. Rajhans recorded sales of 1,200 tickets. On BookMyShow, total advance sales have crossed nearly 50,000 tickets.

The film is currently leading with Rs. 1.50 crore in net collections from advances. Trade experts estimate that the figure could rise to Rs. 12 crores. The next two days are considered crucial for momentum.

Some critics feel the film still needs a stronger push to reach blockbuster status. With Sunny Deol in the lead, expectations are high. Comparisons are being drawn with Gadar 2, which opened at Rs. 39 crores.

Fans remain optimistic about a strong weekend jump. Many believe Monday could provide an added boost. The Republic Day holiday aligns well with the patriotic theme of Border 2.

With Dhurandhar setting a different benchmark since its release last month, the industry is watching closely. The big question remains whether Border 2 can match or surpass those expectations at the box office.
