Early advance booking trends suggest that Border 2 could be heading towards a strong opening at the box office. The film is being closely tracked as a potential first blockbuster of 2026.
Sunny Deol’s Border 2 is scheduled to release this weekend. The buzz around the film increased significantly after the trailer was released last week.
The war actioner also stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahaan Shetty alongside Sunny Deol. Despite the strong cast, expectations were muted earlier due to a weak teaser and underwhelming music album.
The trailer, however, appears to have changed audience perception. Interest in the film has grown, especially with viewers keen on watching a patriotic war film during the Republic Day period.
Advance booking has opened in select regions. The film reportedly sold close to 10,000 tickets across national cinema chains within a short time.
As per BookMyShow, Border 2 has sold around 20,000 tickets so far. Nearly 1,500 tickets are being booked every hour, according to reports.
Despite limited advance booking windows, the numbers are considered impressive. If the trend continues, the film could register a strong opening day on January 23.
Trade expectations suggest the film could sell around 250,000 tickets across national chains before release. That target appears achievable if momentum remains steady.
With projections pointing to an opening of over 25 crores, trade analysts believe Border 2 could emerge as a major box office success. The extended four-day weekend due to Republic Day is expected to further boost collections.
