The remainder of 2025 is packed with high expectations as films like Tere Ishq Mein and Dhurandhar gear up for release. While these are expected to open strong, several other year-end releases might struggle to impress.
According to Pinkvilla’s analysis, films such as Mastiii 4, 120 Bahadur, The Taj Story, De De Pyaar De 2, and a few others may not deliver significant box office numbers.
The Masti franchise has not created major excitement since Grand Masti (2013), which saw only a decent opening. Since then, the adult comedy genre has been on a decline with Great Grand Masti, Mastizaade, and Kya Kool Hai Hum 3.
With Mastiii 4 now on the horizon, the film’s production quality appears average and early buzz remains weak. Audiences seem uninterested in yet another adult comedy after past disappointments. A meagre opening of around 2–3 crores is expected, making Mastiii 4 a likely flop.
Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur has generated curiosity with its teaser, but without a big star or strong emotional hook, it could face challenges. Army-based dramas often depend on strong word-of-mouth to sustain.
The film might open around 3–4 crores and could gain traction later if reviews are positive.
Ajay Devgn’s De De Pyaar De 2 is predicted to open mildly at around 7–8 crores. Despite fan excitement, many still prefer seeing the Singham star in large-scale, action-heavy roles rather than smaller rom-coms.
With several releases lined up in November, the year-end box office race looks unpredictable. It remains to be seen whether any of these films can surprise trade analysts and emerge as unexpected hits.
