Better BO Than Big Stars: 7 Hits and Only 3 Flops

It’s been more than ten years since Vicky Kaushal entered Bollywood and he has slowly gained recognition as a versatile actor, specifically after Chhaava, which is creating headlines with its box office collections.

Vicky’s career has gone through a lot of ups and downs over the last ten films. But the overall result has been good so far compared to other actors. His successful journey began with Raazi, where he shared the screen with Alia Bhatt in 2018. Raazi was successful, but it was a female-led film.

He then played Kamlesh Kanhaiyalal Kapasi in Sanju, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, the same year, and it made him a popular face among the public.

Although his next release in 2019, Manmarziyaan, was a disaster, he managed to bounce back the same year with Uri: The Surgical Strike, which collected more than Rs. 300 crores at the box office. Then there was Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship, which was a flop.

After a gap of around two years, Vicky impressed everyone with his performance in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke opposite Sara Ali Khan in 2023, which was made on a limited budget and turned out to be successful. However, his next film, The Great Indian Family, went unnoticed and was a disaster.

Vicky then portrayed Sam Manekshaw in Sam Bahadur, which collected almost Rs. 100 crores on a limited budget, despite clashing with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal the same day. He returned as a romantic actor in Bad Newz with Tripti Dimrii, which was an average grosser.

Vicky’s Chhaava is currently running in theatres and has also left the audiences in tears. As per the latest update, it has reportedly collected Rs. 151 crores so far and has accumulated Rs. 24 crores on Monday, despite that it was a working day.

However, it remains to be seen if Chhaava can repeat the success of Uri by collecting more than the expected numbers at the end of its theatrical run.
