The much hyped movie ‘Padmavati’ starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh in the leading roles is in the headlines again. The movie has been surrounded by controversies from the very beginning and has now encountered another problem. Apparently, the movie has been rejected by the Censor Board and sent back for some revision.

The film which focuses on a Rajput Queen known for her bravery was in the sights for showcasing inaccurate content and hence distorting history. It was even called out by many, the most recent being Hindu Janajagruti Samiti that warned the CBFC to either remove the objectionable scenes before passing it or face outrage.
Needless to say, it seems the opposing group won and the film has been sent back to the filmmakers. While the exact issue in the film is still unclear, “the movie will be reviewed as per set norms once it is sent back to the CBFC after sorting out the issue”, as said by a source. Word is that now the film will have its release on 12th January instead of its initial release date, 1st December.
