Vishwambhara OTT Pressure: Do Makers Have Any Choice?

Vishwambhara January 13 Release and OTT Deal

Chiranjeevi’s ambitious fantasy film Vishwambhara is reportedly targeting a Sankranthi release on January 13, with the makers keen on sticking to the date.

According to the latest buzz, the team has an existing agreement with Amazon Prime Video linked to the planned release schedule. This is reportedly one of the reasons the makers are keen on releasing the film on January 13, leaving little room for another postponement. An official announcement is expected around a month before the release.

Directed by Vassishta, Vishwambhara features Chiranjeevi and Trisha in the lead roles. The film has been in the news for its grand scale, fantasy backdrop, and extensive visual effects. However, uncertainty over its release date has remained a concern since production began, with several dates being discussed without official confirmation.

Following the brutal backlash to the teaser, the film was indefinitely postponed. Nearly two years have passed, and fans are still waiting for its release.

The latest reports also suggest that Chiranjeevi’s other film, Kaaka, is out of the Sankranthi race, leaving Vishwambhara to target January 13. However, the makers have yet to confirm the schedule.

Given the film’s fantasy elements and emphasis on visual effects, the makers hope a festival release will help attract family audiences, which might not have been possible on other dates. However, the reported OTT agreement could also be putting pressure on the team to stick to January 13.

For now, fans will have to wait for an official announcement to know whether Vishwambhara will finally arrive this Sankranthi after a long and uncertain wait.
