Bollywood couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have always stood firm on protecting their daughter Dua Padukone Singh’s privacy. Celebrity parents often make efforts to shield their children from public exposure, and the same has been true for Deepika and Ranveer.
Since welcoming their daughter on September 8, 2024, the pair has chosen not to reveal her face. They have consistently requested paparazzi and fans to respect their decision. Even when fans insisted, they only shared glimpses of Dua on social media.
Recently, their efforts were compromised when a video surfaced online showing Dua sitting on Deepika’s lap with her face visible for the first time. The clip also captured Deepika’s clear discomfort as she repeatedly asked the person filming to stop.
Despite her requests being ignored, the video soon spread widely on social media. While some viewers were excited, many condemned the act. One user on X wrote, “It doesn’t matter if she’s a celeb baby, she’s too young, and this is morally wrong.”
The incident drew comparisons to Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, who have also struggled to keep their children Vamika and Akaay away from the public eye. Deepika and Ranveer had only introduced Dua through a Diwali 2024 post, revealing her name with a picture of her tiny feet.
As a society, it is important to recognise that when parents choose not to share their child’s photo, that boundary must be respected. Whether it is Deepika and Ranveer or an ordinary family, no one has the right to break that privacy.
