Pooja Hegde plays an unapologetic ‘Alpha female’ in Deva, As Ranveer in animal ‘Alpha Male’. Diya and is challenging the traditional Alpha male roles in action films.
At the trailer launch, Pooja said she is thrilled to play a character that speaks her mind and represents the fearless women of today along with Shahid Kapoor.
At the event, Pooja revealed her first look as Diya and said she is a journalist investigating the police-mafia connection.
A key scene in the trailer shows Diya writing an article questioning this link and gives a glimpse into her fearless investigative self.
Pooja also said she has gained respect for investigative journalists especially those in crime reporting.
She said playing a journalist made her appreciate the courage and determination required in such a tough profession.
Deva is changing the action genre by giving a female character the strength and agency usually reserved for the male lead. Diya like the “Alpha male” takes on tough challenges and is a modern representation of strength and independence.
Deva brings a new perspective to action films with Pooja Hegde as Diya. The film releases on January 31, 2025 and will showcase women empowerment in high octane stories and set a new benchmark for female leads in the genre.
