Dhurandhar 2 is finally set for its OTT release on May 14, 2026, on JioHotstar. The film has been carrying decent buzz among audiences ever since its theatrical run ended. Fans are now waiting to see how it performs in the digital space.
Both the first and second parts of the Aditya Dhar directorial received attention after their theatrical releases. However, Dhurandhar 1 managed to gain stronger appreciation from audiences in theatres as well as on OTT platforms.
While expectations were high for the sequel, some viewers felt that the second part lacked the emotional impact and intensity of the original. A section of the audience also expressed disappointment with the music, saying it did not match the standard set by the first film.
Interestingly, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will stream on JioHotstar instead of Netflix, where the first part had reportedly found a wider audience. Despite mixed reviews, the sequel still emerged as a box office blockbuster, largely driven by the popularity of the earlier instalment.
The makers are now reportedly planning to release a ‘raw and undekha’ version of the film on OTT. This has created fresh curiosity among fans who are expecting additional scenes or a different presentation compared to the theatrical version.
Although JioHotstar remains a strong streaming platform in India, some viewers feel it may not offer the same global reach as Netflix. It remains to be seen whether this shift in platform will influence the overall OTT reception of the film.
