Atlee Back to SRK After Allu Arjun: Practically Possible?

Don 3 Shah Rukh Khan Atlee rumour

Speculation around Don 3 has intensified after Ranveer Singh’s sudden exit from Farhan Akhtar’s much discussed project. Fresh rumours now suggest that Shah Rukh Khan could return to the iconic franchise, sparking renewed excitement and debate within the industry.

While reports of Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback have generated massive buzz, a key hurdle remains. Sources claim the actor is unwilling to return unless specific creative conditions are met, which currently stand in the way of the project moving forward.

According to recent reports, Shah Rukh Khan has allegedly placed a firm condition that Atlee should direct Don 3 instead of Farhan Akhtar. This demand is said to be non negotiable, making the situation more complex for the long delayed sequel.

Farhan Akhtar has reportedly nurtured Don 3 as a dream project for over a decade. Industry watchers note that he even attempted to bring Shah Rukh Khan back to the franchise in 2019, but those efforts failed to materialise.

A social media post on the subreddit r/BollyBlindsNGossip claimed to offer insider details on the controversy. The user stated that Farhan has a single strong idea for Don 3, which he believes could turn the film into his magnum opus.

The post further alleged that Farhan put aside his nearly completed script of Jee Le Zaraa. This decision was reportedly taken to focus entirely on reviving the Don franchise and securing the right lead actor.

According to the same source, Farhan pursued Shah Rukh Khan for months before a rare one on one meeting took place. During the meeting, the superstar allegedly made it clear that returning to the franchise would not happen.

After Shah Rukh Khan’s rejection, Farhan reportedly approached Ranveer Singh, who was considered a strong choice by several insiders. However, the project struggled to find financiers and was temporarily shelved due to lack of backing.

Reports also claim that Farhan Akhtar reached out to Hrithik Roshan for the role. The two share a long professional and personal association, but no official confirmation has emerged regarding this approach.

Another challenge is Shah Rukh Khan’s reported insistence on Atlee as director. The filmmaker has gained significant attention following AA22 with Allu Arjun, raising questions about his availability and interest in a gangster film.

With Don 3 surrounded by conflicting demands and unconfirmed reports, audiences continue to watch closely. The key question remains whether Farhan Akhtar will compromise on direction or continue pursuing his vision until it finally takes shape.
